The Baltimore Ravens will have one of the highest expectations in the league this season.  Coming off a season that saw them capture the #1 Seed in the AFC and 13-wins, everyone expects Baltimore to once again be a Super Bowl contender.

Lamar Jackson is coming off another MVP year, however, there was a pretty significant change at QB2.

According NFL Insider Jordan Schultz:

Breaking: Former Pro Bowl QB Tyler “Snoop” Huntley is expected to sign with the #Ravens, per multiple sources.

A reunion alongside Lamar Jackson in Baltimore.

With Huntley in the lineup, the Ravens know they can win, but Josh Johnson is a different story. Johnson’s only start was against the Cincinnati Bengals in ’21, a 41-21 loss.

During the summer, Johnson struggled at times, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. A veteran of eight teams include the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he is 38 years old.

Considering Jackson’s injury and illness history, Huntley is a more reliable option as QB2. Based on the depth chart, the Ravens value safety at football’s most important position.

According to James Dudko:

A Pro Bowl berth, albeit as an injury replacement for Buffalo Bills’ star Josh Allen following the 2022 season, proves Huntley’s credentials. The undrafted free agent is not a numbers nor points-churning machine, but he’s smart and efficient.

Huntley is also mobile enough to make plays with his legs. Like he did for this touchdown run against the Green Bay Packers in 2021.
