Jamie Redknapp picked out an Aston Villa standout for admiration, likening the midfielder to “Jonah Lomu in his prime.”
On match day two of the new season, Villa suffered their first Premier League loss as they were defeated 2-0 by Arsenal, despite dominating the game for the majority of it.
Although Villa made an impression, Ollie Watkins wasted two fantastic opportunities for the home team, but Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey scored to give Arsenal a 2-0 victory.
Morgan Rodgers, who was starting his 13th game for the team after joining in February from Middlesbrough, was one of those who stood out. The 22-year-old was the driving force behind everything his team accomplished during the match.
Redknapp, who was all over Villa’s man when he spoke on Sky Sports, was the one who identified him as one of the better players.
