KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Travis Kelce is entering his 12th season in the NFL and has a boatload of accomplishments and other endeavors outside of football.
With that being said, retirement discussion for Kelce has been a topic of conversation for more than a year now.

The seven-time All Pro has staked his claim in the GOAT tight end conversation and just received an $100 million deal with Amazon for his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce while also being involved in multiple television opportunities.
With everything on Kelce’s plate, you’d think life after football seems to be rearing its head around the corner, but as for now, Kelce is still motivated and hungry.
“Physically, I feel just as good, if not more ready than I have been in years past just because you get more comfortable with your body,” Kelce said. “You learn things from the mistakes you’ve made in years past.”
As the 34-year-old tight end continues to get older and his body endures more NFL seasons, he hasn’t ruled out changing up or adding something new to his routine to keep his body in the best shape possible.
“We’ll see what challenges occur throughout the season. I think I’ve caught a good routine and a good groove of makings sure that I’m at peak athletic ability to go out there and perform every single week.
“You just never know the know the nicks and the bumps and bruises that you get throughout the season, you might have to pick up something along the way.”
Kelce went into last season dealing with a knee injury causing him to miss the season opener, and despite all of Kelce’s mileage, a limited workload to start the season is out the question. This was Kelce’s response to if coaches had talked to him about managing his snap count for Week 1:
“No, and I probably wouldn’t listen to them if they did.”
For Kelce, it’s his love of the game that fuels his motivation to continue playing on the gridiron and focus on the task at hand.

“I just love football and how it takes me away from life and it gives me something I can feel genuinely happy about,” Kelce said. “I enjoy coming in the building, working on my craft, getting to understand a new gameplan and perfecting that for the people around me. It gives me a purpose to kind of go about my day and to live my life, and I just have so much excitement doing it.
“It’s going to be hard trying to figure out when to call it quits or not.”
