Summer is winding down, yet the Los Angeles Lakers still haven’t made any real moves this offseason. The only additions to their main roster since the end of the 2024 NBA Playoffs have been Dalton Knecht and Bronny James, their two draft picks, and thus many are predicting they will possibly miss the playoffs this coming season.
It will take plenty of internal improvement for them to take the next step and go from a playoff team to one that could contend for the NBA championship. That includes not only their rookies but also their young, developing players.
On Tuesday, the Lakers brought in a young player they hope to develop in guard Jordan Goodwin, who reportedly agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal with them.
Goodwin went undrafted in 2021 after playing four years at Saint Louis University, a school that competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference of Division I NCAA basketball. He spent his first two pro seasons with the Washington Wizards, and last season, he split his time between the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies.
A 6-foot-4 point guard, he has career averages of 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 17.9 minutes a game while shooting 40.5% from the field and 30.8% from 3-point range.
