Minor Lines: Trevor Story Takes The Field, But doesn’t do anything at the plate…

Toronto Blue Jays v Boston Red Sox - Game One

Worcester, W 3-1

Yes, that’s an 0-fer next to Trevor Story’s name, but the more important development here with respect to his rehab is that he played shortstop for the first time. Unfortunately, he only played 5 innings. It’s going to take him a long time to get back to Fenway this year, if he does at all.

In better news, that’s one of the best starts Richard Fitts has put together all year. He’s had some decent results lately, though he still has a problem giving up the long ball. There’s little reason to believe that he won’t start next season in the exact same place he did this season: in Worcester as a depth starter.

Marcelo Mayer is done for the year, but the remaining members of the Big Four all contributed, with Romany Anthony hitting a double, Kristian Campbell reaching base twice, and Kyle Teel swiping two bags.

Salem, W 8-7

With three strikeouts, Nazzan Zanatello has now — quite shockingly — struck out in 49.8% of his at-bats this year. Defensively, he has committed 25 errors in 50 games. I urge everyone to remember his name the next time the MLB draft rolls around and people on the internet tell you to get really excited about a bunch of teenagers whom no one has actually seen play.
