Minor Lines: Isaac Coffey. That’s the Headline.

The Red Sox season is just about over. So, since the front office clearly didn’t secure enough assets to contend, it’s time to watch some of what they hedged the season on. Worcester had the night off Tuesday, but Portland and Greenville played, and they each featured a lack of offense unable to back commendable pitching. Let’s get into it!

Portland: L, 1-2 (BOX SCORE)

Portland’s bats, much like Boston’s, fell silent against New Hampshire (Blue Jays AA). The only man to manage a hit, Jhonstynxon Garcia, gathered two. Blaze Jordan is back in the saddle with a double, but it was the only extra base hit Portland got Tuesday night. None of this, however, negates the positivity of another fantastic Isaac Coffey performance. He struck out nine men in six innings, walking just one man, but the two earned runs burned him, and so he took the decision oss.

Greenville: L, 0-4 (BOX SCORE)

Blake Wehunt, like Isaac Coffey, got burned by his lack of bats despite a solid performance (or at least, not a bad one… though the three earned runs and four walks against the Dash (White Sox High-A) left something to be desired.) The Greenville bats recorded no extra base hits, no hits with a runner in scoring position, and were sat down on strikes twelve times. Greenville also secured a losing record on the season.

Happy Tuesday-iest Wednesday of the year!
