Miami Heat icon Dwyane Wade and former Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony were with The Kid Mero reminiscing about the time Wade joined the Cleveland Cavaliers on the “7 PM in Brooklyn” podcast.

During one segment, the trio talked about Wade’s time at the Cavs and the jersey he donned for the Eastern Conference team. Anthony started the discussion by informing Wade that he and his co-host, The Kid Mero, found his Cavs No. 3 jersey “nasty.” Wade agreed, saying it was the “nastiest jersey.”

“I didn’t even want number 3 in that jersey cause I was like ‘Nah’, this ain’t a good look,” Wade said in response to Anthony’s remark.

Kid Mero questioned Dwyane Wade about the number he wore. Wade said he wore No. 9, his jersey number on the Olympic team.

Carmelo Anthony soon burst into laughter, pointing out that the No. 9 in a Cavs jersey was “nasty.” Wade even reposted the clip on X and made the same hopeful request.

“Hopefully we can leave that one in the past,” he wrote.

The three-time NBA champion highlighted that he quickly made his way out of the franchise.

Dwyane Wade played only one season (2017-18) for the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he reunited with LeBron James. However, at the start of February 2018, Wade was traded back to the Heat for a 2024 second-round draft pick.

The Cavs made it to the NBA Finals the same season only to be swept by the Golden State Warriors.

Carmelo Anthony expresses his desire to own a sports team with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James

On his “7 PM in Brooklyn” podcast, Carmelo Anthony expressed his desire to own a sports franchise. Listening to his wish, Melo’s co-host Kid Mero posed a hypothetical scenario of the former Nuggets star owning a franchise with the iconic Miami Heat duo featuring LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Melo was amused with the thought and made it clear that he was open to the idea in his response.

“I would love it,” Anthony said. “That’s generational, that’s legacy, if we can do that you get what I’m saying? I don’t know how… I am open.”

Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were three of the biggest names in the NBA during the mid-2000s. They were the generational talents who were all drafted in the 2003 NBA draft, with James being the first pick, Melo going third and Dwyane Wade coming in at fifth.

While both Anthony and Wade have retired from the sport, Bron remains in the league even at age 39.
