The 28-year-old is in his sixth season at the Etihad and is said to be keen on a move away for a new challenge, with Real Madrid reportedly eyeing a move in the summer of 2025.
And if Rodri does leave, it seems Man City have already lined up a replacement for him. According to the Daily Mail, Man City are monitoring Adam Wharton’s progress at Crystal Palace and could make a move next summer.
Palace moved quickly to sign the 20-year-old in the January transfer window, joining from Blackburn Rovers in a deal worth £22m.
The midfielder has impressed at Palace and earned a place in England’s squad for Euro 2024. He is expected to improve further this season and has attracted interest from a number of big clubs, with Liverpool reportedly also interested in Wharton.
