After flaming out of the first round of the NFL playoffs last year, losing to Jordan Love and the upstart Green Bay Packers at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Dallas Cowboys were expected to make some drastic moves during the offseason to bounce back with a vengeance in 2024.
However, despite a promise from longtime team owner and general manager Jerry Jones, the Cowboys basically stood pat outside of bringing back veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott in NFL free agency.
With the Cowboys brass seemingly unwilling to make big moves during the offseason, the attention turned to America’s Team taking care of its best players on both sides of the football, namely Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons.
Although it took the entire NFL offseason, the Cowboys agreed to lucrative long-term contract extensions with Prescott and Lamb, but Parsons remains without a new deal.
Even though Parsons is the only one of the three stars not to secure his long-term deal, the superstar linebacker seems content with his situation and knows his playing future is in Dallas via Bleacher Report.
“I know I’m going to be a Cowboy,” Parsons said.
Along with Parsons seemingly fine without having a new deal before the 2024 NFL season started last week, the Cowboys are coming off an impressive win over the Cleveland Browns, where the team’s defense shined, led by the young superstar.
As long as Parsons is content with his situation and continues to play at a high level, Dallas could be in for a great season filled with promise.
