Novak Djokovic has completed another training session with the Serbian Davis Cup national team and there is no doubt that, like the others, he is impatiently waiting for the matches against Greece, which are scheduled for this weekend!
Djokovic joined the team on Tuesday, on Wednesday he sparred in Belgrade’s Pionir venue with Dusan Lajovic, who is also on coach Viktor Troicki’s list for the tie in which our country will fight for survival in the World Group!
There are also Miomir Kecmanovic and Hamad Medjedovic, while Laslo Djere dropped out due to injury. Junior national team member Marko Maksimovic is also training with the team as a sparring partner.
This will be the first time in seven years that Serbian tennis players get to compete in the Davis Cup in Pionir. The draw is scheduled for September 13. Matches on Saturday start at 15:00 – two singles, while the Sunday program starts at 13:00 with the doubles and continues with two singles matches.
Stefanos Tsitsipas will not play for Greece due to injury, but his brother Petros, Ioannis Xilas, Demetris Azoides will be there. The Greece coach is Dimitris Hatzinikolaou.
The winner will secure placement in the group stage of the 2025 Davis Cup.
