Taylor Swift fans SOB as star thanks ‘my boyfriend Travis Kelce’ during historic 2024 MTV VMAs Video of the Year win

Taylor Swift fans could hardly contain their emotions as the singer gave her boyfriend Travis Kelce a sweet shout-out at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in New York on Wednesday.

The Anti-Hero hitmaker, 34, thanked the NFL star, 34, as she recalled shooting her Fortnight music video while accepting Video Of The Year during the ceremony.

‘I would always just hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting [Fortnight],’ Swift began.

‘And that one person was my boyfriend Travis. Everything this man touches turns into happiness and fun and magic.

‘I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that,’ the 13-time Grammy-winner gushed.

Fans were brought to tears as they flocked to social media to react to Swift’s kind words about her boyfriend of one-year — with many declaring it a ‘hard launch.’

It comes amid wild rumors that her romance with Kelce is a ‘PR stunt.’

This year’s recipient of the legendary Video Vanguard Award was Katy Perry.

‘Katy is a musical powerhouse and true pop culture icon,’ said Bruce Gillmer, chief content officer of music at Paramount+ and president of music, music talent, programming and events at Paramount in a statement.

‘With her game changing creative vision, she has become a global phenomenon and taken over the world’s biggest stages,’ added Gillmer.

Past winners of the Video Vanguard Award include David Bowie, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, and Pink.

The award comes as Perry prepares to release her upcoming seventh studio album 143. Her comeback single from the album, Woman’s World, flopped in the charts following its release over the summer.

As for accolades, Swift was the most-nominated artist at the event with an impressive 10 nods to her name.
