The Miami Dolphins resumed their practice on Monday, gearing up for their opening game of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars at the end of the week, with encouraging attendance news.
Wide receiver Tyreek Hill and safety Jevon Holland were back on the field, alongside wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and tight end Tanner Conner, both of whom participated without the need for their previous no-contact, red jerseys.
However, cornerback Jalen Ramsey was absent from the practice session open to the media. His last attendance was noted before the joint practice session with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 21st.
During the stretching session, center Aaron Brewer was briefly seen, although he did not join the team outside at the Baptist Health Training Complex.
Injury precautions were visible as rookie running back Jaylen Wright sported a compression sleeve on his right leg, and linebacker David Long Jr. on his left leg.
The Dolphins will issue their first official injury report for the 2024 season after Wednesday’s practice.
In typical early season fashion, several players changed their jersey numbers. Veteran linebacker Emmanuel Ogbah reverted to number 91, his original number during his first four seasons with the Dolphins, after exchanging numbers with defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand, who gave up his previous season’s number 93 to new team member Calais Campbell, a veteran who has worn 93 throughout his career. Hand has now adopted number 90.
Safety Marcus Maye also changed his jersey number from 46 back to 26, which he wore during his first two seasons with the New York Jets.
