Retired NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III was fired by ESPN last month.
Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill has fathered no fewer than seven children, although some put that figure at more than 10.
So when the two squared off in a social media spat this week, their respective circumstances provided each other with more than adequate ammunition.
‘ESPN I understand now,’ Hill wrote on X, referring to the World Wide Leader’s decision to axe Griffin from its NFL coverage.
Griffin responded in kind: ‘Now I see why you got so many kids; everyone needs protection around you.’

The vicious exchange was part of larger and somewhat inexplicable conversation on X, where Hill appeared to take offense at something written by Griffin.
Explaining that he wanted to see the famously fast Hill race champion pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, Griffin wrote that such an event would be so popular that it could ‘feed families.’
This comment somehow offended Hill, who responded with his aforementioned ESPN post.
Hill later complained that Griffin ‘brought my family into this.’
‘You brought mine into,’ Griffin shot back. ‘They impact too.
‘And I ain’t even say nothing bad about you.’

Several commenters responded with references to Hill’s pervious arrest for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend in 2014, as well as the child abuse allegations he faced in 2019. Hill was never arrested over the alleged abuse of his eldest child.
Hill is set to welcome another child soon, but this time, it will be his wife giving birth.
Hill’s wife, Keeta Vaccaro, announced in May that she and Hill are expecting. Keeta is the sister of former NFL safety Kenny Vaccaro.
Hill and Vaccaro have had their share of problems, with the couple filing for divorce earlier this year.
However, Hill says that his ‘f***ing bonehead lawyers’ filed for divorce on his behalf without permission just 76 days after the couple got married.
Hill has hinted that he has up to ten kids with multiple different women. That includes four children he’s welcomed this year.
Hill also has three children from a previous relationship with ex-fiancée Crystal Espinal, meaning he had up to six children from four women, but in a new interview on the ‘Million Dollaz Worth Of Game’ YouTube channel, he didn’t deny claims that the overall number is much higher.
Inevitably, Griffin made a reference to Hill’s growing number of children
Hill was asked by one of the hosts: ‘You play offense but off the field, you’re the all-time leading tackler. You’ve got 10 kids. You’re just a family man!’
Following his dismissal at ESPN, Griffin III has said he is ‘furious’ at his former employer at the hiring of Jason McCourty.
McCourty’s arrival at ESPN is viewed as a move to appease one of the network’s biggest stars, Stephen A. Smith, amid his lucrative contract negotiations, per The Sun.
‘He is still getting over this firing at ESPN, and it has been a very frustrating time for him, as he really got caught by surprise,’ a source told The US Sun. ‘But what happened with Jason McCourty being hired by ESPN made him furious, as it comes at a time where the group has been saying that they fired some people, including him, to cut costs.
‘It doesn’t make any sense. He is working on his next steps, but when the news about McCourty broke, he was in shock, really disappointed and surprised that ESPN made a move to recruit someone new in this context.’
The addition of McCourty is viewed as a similar move to ESPN bringing Shannon Sharpe into the fold last year, according to The Sun.
