The Miami Dolphins will be looking to move to 2-0 when they face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football. However, they could be thin at the running back position.
Both Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane didn’t practice for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, as reported by NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe. That’s certainly a concerning sign since their Week 2 tilt is just a couple of days away.
Achane led Miami with 10 carries in the season opener but he only averaged 2.4 yards per run. Mostert meanwhile had six carries for a mere nine yards.
Jeff Wilson was the standout in the Dolphins’ backfield with five touches for 26 yards. If Achane and Mostert both can’t go on Thursday, expect Wilson to see an increased load.
Miami really struggled on the ground in Week 1 with only 81 rushing yards. Tua Tagovailoa thrived through the air though, racking up 319 passing yards. If Mike McDaniel’s options at running back are limited, expect the Dolphins to focus on their passing game, especially after Tyreek Hill reeled in seven receptions for 130 yards.

Jaylen Wright, who is the fourth-string back, will also see some playing time if Achane and Mostert are sidelined.
